Romantic Urban Dining – A great romantic/urban setting in Rice Village. Wonderful infusion of different cuisines. Romantic dining downstairs, great bar & party rooms upstairs. One of the great restaurants here in Houston.
Fusion without pretention – Huge portions of interesting, flavorful food; reasonable prices; friendly wait-staff; convenient Village location with ample parking; great bar with bartenders who really know how to mix drinks --- what more could you ask for?
Get there when it opens! – Every Sunday at Benji's is a full house. If you don't arrive until 1/2 hour after they open, you'll have to wait. Bring your appetite because they are generous with the portions, especially their unique version of "French Toast" which is big enough to split. Don't expect your average brunch fare. If you don't mind a crowded and sometimes lively atmosphere, it is a great place to people-watch while you eat. A trendy spot for all ages.
benjy's rocks the 'bah – Despite looking as if it was decorated by an army of Vern's, this place rocks. The food, wine, and service are all top-notch, and everything is priced, well, too low... And when I ordered my filet "blue," the waitress didn't blink. These folks have their acts together. Don't miss an oppurtunity to stop in!
Fantabulous – Benjy's is a fantastic restaurant and worth every penny. The dining experience is fantastic, and the waitstaff is excellent. My favorite part of our experience is being able to wait to be seated in a very hip lounge/bar, which is upstairs. I highly recommend going if you havent been. You will not regret it.
WASPy treats – I have been in love with this place for several years. Watch the post-"Protestant Church" West U. crowd enjoy wonderful dishes in a squeaky clean environment. However, with the demise of other brunch favorites, this place has become too crowded for my taste.
Best kept Secret – This place is alot of fun!! They have great martinis and the food is terrific. It is nice for a place to offer a different kind of food. This place was awesome.
Very Nice – This was unexpected! We went based solely on the reveiws and I was a little taken aback by the mod atmosphere. But the wine list was so reasonable and the shrimp/pecan dumpling appetizer sold me. I love the asian flare. I'll be back here!
Benjy's is the place for singles – In a nutshell, Benjy's is the place to meet singles. You might even meet the man/woman of your dreams there. Smart sophisticated and cute too.
