Becco

About this business

Inspired by his travels across Italy, Joe Bastianich opened Becco with his mom Lidia to much fanfare. The word Becco comes from the Italian verb beccare, meaning "to nibble." A great addition to Broadway's dining alternatives, the lovely restaurant is a popular pit stop for theater-goers. Sample their delectable prix-fixe pasta menu and the kitchen's redefinition of Italian flavors with an impressive wine list and seasonal cocktails.

The food was excellent. We had a party of 8 and everyone was happy. I had a special that was braised short ribs. It was delicious, the meat melts in your mouth. With 8 dining rooms they can handle large parties. Great place to go before the theater.

Great atmosphere, service and food. I was alone, snagged a seat at the bar. Had a delicious Aperol spritzer then had the SINFONIA DI PASTE, ($25) Cesare salad with 3 pastas. All were delicious! Gnocchi, pasta with bacon and marinara. Enjoyed everything. Will be back!

This was not our first visit to Becco. The food is delicious. The reasonably priced wine list is a breathe of fresh air in NYC, especially in midtown. We would have given it five stars but they lost track of our table a few times with pasta and such. In their defense it was their busy pre-theater rush. Overall we love this place.

We were visiting NYC and wanted a nice Italian dinner. We went here at 10:30pm.... they were open until 1am... where we were greeted and brought to our table. Our server immediately came to our table for a drink order. Our lemon drop martinis were absolutely perfect. Our server then introduced us to Audrey another new server. Audrey was wonderful. We had the polenta appetizer and for the main dish we had chicken and the stuffed peppers. Every part of our dining experience was incredible. My friend and I both work in the rest... read more
