What a great place to eat. I've been there twice now and the potions are ridiculously huge. You better be hungry if your planning on getting the "Bear" size!!
Atmosphere is nice and gives you a great experience. Dining could have stood to be bussed an it but it was pretty busy so I didn't worry about the few crumbs here and there. The food was good but not great. The brisket was barked well and rested but dried pretty quickly after it was portioned. The pulled pork was mediocre at best but still good. Had lunch at the new Hartford location. Rolled the dice and tried the turkey over the more traditional BBQ meats, absolutely perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sides were on point. Service was excellent. I'll be back again for sure!
Was in the Windsor location last night and I must say has this place gone downhill..the service was horrible the brisket tasted like a pot roast and was cold..the pulled pork had no smoke flavor at all..seemed like nobody cared..when bears first opened it was the best around now that they have expanded very quickly the quality of the food and service has gone way down..we will not be back
BBQ was awesome! Got the brisket and Texas Sausage! Most definitely coming back and referring. Must try the burnt ends and ribs on my return trip. Can't wait!

Brisket and burnt ends. Or burnt ends and brisket. You really can't go wrong. May I recommend either the apple crisp or pecan pie. Oh and don't worry the uconn ice cream for your ala mode. Vanilla is recommended but really dealers choice.
I travel all the time and look for great BBQ all over the country. Bears Smokehouse is about as good as it gets, in addition to the fact that the folks that work there made a great first impression with their friendliness and good service!
One word, amazing. Love the atmosphere and fast service. Be ready for a nap afterwards!
