Beacon Drive Inn

About this business

Considered a regional landmark and ranked as the second biggest drive-in restaurant in the country, The Beacon is a must-see for visitors looking to eat local comfort food. This old-fashioned drive-in is famous among South Carolinians for their friendly service, Beacon sweet tea (largest single seller of sweet tea in the country) and deliciously unhealthy menu staples like the chili cheese dog, onion rings, hush puppies, BBQ plates and fried fish baskets. The Beacon has everything you could want out of a Southern restaurant;... read more

I was turned on to the Beacon by some coworkers that live in Spartanburg. UNREAL. Every time I work west of Spartanburg, I stop for lunch. Pimento cheeseburger a plenty. I LOVE this place!

The place is an Institution and is great, from Jerry calling your order to the food and ice cream alike, the chicken stew was awesome and chilli cheeseburger a-plenty, was quite good. It's quite an experience and hope to be back (a-plenty means onion rings and fries piled high on top yum)

I was very weirded out when we walked in! I joked with my fiancé that the place looked like it should have been a scene from the movie GET OUT. The guy who was calling out the order was very friendly and joked with us. Everyone else seemed a little robotic! The food was REALLY good so that was a good thing. The place can stand for a good cleaning and restructuring. I later went online and read reviews and gained a lot more appreciation for the place. We also realized the significance of the "Drive-In" in it's name! The regis... read more

I was very impressed with the menu selections and the ability to order anything for breakfast. I ordered he hash sandwich and it was excellent. The decorations of old time sport sign championships are cool. I love the employee Hall Of Fame. The place is huge and a must stop place for travelers. I stopped because I tour any and all Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives (this was #124). I will say it is in my Top 5 of Triple Ds.

Business response:

Thank you!
