I’ve been using this location since 2008. Speaking as a nurse that interacts with people often. I always make it my upmost importance regardless of my day to use curtsy, professionalism and politeness with everyone I meet. On many occasions I feel Bay Pines Staff at the desks lack this. We are nervous, anxious and scared and it would be nice that the first encounter be the best one. Caveat-This is no way pertaining to all the staff. Bay Pines has a lot of good positive things that I appreciate.
great support system everything you need is there you just have to keep up on it
Accessibility, caring, efficient, and responsive
This place is a disgusting dirty place. The doctors here are ones that couldn’t make it anywhere else. There are always employees standing around doing nothing! I’m am about to pay for insurance for my husband just so this crap doesn’t happen. His appt was over a hour ago still sitting here. Glad this is how they treat our VETERANS.
Had additional surgery today to remove squamous cancer; this time behind an ear and on my forehead. The pre- and post-op nurses were excellent. My surgeon (Dr. Hiro) as always, and his team were awesome and I couldn’t ask for better healthcare. I’ve only experienced the best care with all my doctors, nurses and staff at Bay Pines. Thank you!
I was on vacation on Jan 19th, 2019 and became ill so I went to the Emergency Room late at night. The staff was superb and I could not have gotten any better treatment anywhere. Dr. Eastman and Nurse Barnett were the best. I am thankful folks like these two choose to work at the VA. Excellent care!!!!!
I would like to know why it is so expensive. I am 68 years old and live off social security. If I go to see my primary doc at the VA I pay $15, with my Humana ins. I pay $0. A specialist at VA $50, with Humana it's $30. Tier 1 drugs at the VA $15, with Humana it's $0. Why? I have tried to ask before but I just get the run around,
My husband, Doug, received excellent care at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System! He had surgery on January 10th. The nursing staff in the SICU UNIT are phenomenal‼️ They extended excellent care with compassion‼️They took the time with patience to train me in the caregiving that I needed to care for Doug when we transitioned to home‼️ Doug and I both cannot express enough our sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff in the SICU UNIT‼️THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🙏🙏
Service is slow. The best practice is to transfer you everywhere when you call rather than dealing with you. Patient advocates work for the V.A. and not the patients. No sense of urgency. A Community Care program slower than the V.A. itself.
