This is one of the finest steakhouses around Philadelphia. Barclay Prime's decor is more on the side of an uptown eatery with marble tables, comfortable plush sofas and walls lined with walnut bookcases. Order from the special menu, which consists of Kobe Sliders, Tuna and beef Tartar and the famous Philly Cheese steak. From the a la carte menu, take your pick from the Oysters Rockefeller, 12-ounce filet Porterhouses and the dangerously delicious sounding butter poached-lobster.

One of my favorites. Barclay Prime is one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. The sliders for an appetizer are really good. Salmon is incredible and so is their filet. Often booked up in advance. Try to make reservations. One odd thing that may freak you out the first time. The bathroom is huge but it is unisex. You do a double-take when you first enter thinking you walked in the wrong one.
Barclay Prime is an average steak house. If I had to pay for this myself, I wouldn't go. I had a gift certificate, so I gave it a try. The Kobe sliders were good, otherwise I would say it's a typical steak-house, priced very high.
Barclay Prime Barclay Prime is a fabulous restaurant, especially if someone else is paying because it is very very expensive. Everything is ala carte. I love the wedge salad, with blue cheese and lump crab meat. The decor is cute- like a mod library. You can't go wrong here, even if you don't like meat.
so so For the price of Barclay Prime I wouldn't recommend it at all. I've been there a few times because my fiance absolutely loves the Kobe beef $85 steak. I have gotten a filet well done on two occasions and just found myself eating an overpriced burnt piece of meat. Another time I had the chicken which I thought was an overpriced slimy piece of chicken. I would rather go to the Chart House and have Prime Rib!
love it, great atmosphere. The knife selection process is hilarious but very unique
Best Steak in Philadelphia – We recently visited my favorite restaurant of all times. The Barclay Prime is without a doubt, the best steak house you will find in ALL of Philadelphia. My husband & I, along with another couple visited the Barclay last week for Valentines dinner. The Rosemary popovers are always a favorite. Then the shellfish sampler came out, and once again, the oysters were superb! I thought the shrimp (as large as baby lobster tails) were a little tasteless. They were not as juicy/succulent as I remembered i... read more
a must! – The steaks are out of this world!!! Very friendly staff, Great cocktails i also loved the salads!!! Dessert is also very very good ! Worth every penny!!!
Amazing Food, Staff and Atmosphere – Barclay Prime has never disappointed me! I come back every time I'm in Philly. Everything was great; The Tajima Flat Iron steak was delicious and a great compromise in price if you want the buttery taste and smooth texture of Kobe without the Kobe Filet Price tag. Service was equally amazing, Michelle and her staff are world class...really, I travel the globe and this place is tops. It's worth every penny!
Wow, this is a great steakhouse, but the best was saved until the end - dessert! Way better than any other steakhouse we've been too. We had a delicious caramel banana coconut dessert - out of this world. The ice cream is homemade and we tried two flavors, unique and delicious! We would go back just for the desserts, but the food was great too.
