In the past 2 weeks my mom entered er with a lock knee, was admitted to the 2nd floor. Was told she needed acute therapy by several therapist & needed in-patient rehab. Spent the weekend to be told by a therapist on monday 15th she can go home for home health & was discharged. Guess what home health decline her as she needed acute therapy & as she was discharge she has to go out patient. Baptist out patient doesn’t have space for new patient for at least 6-7 weeks. Baptist Health has long had a terrible reputation among locals, but my family now has first hand knowledge about how their seemingly negligent behavior could result in tragedy. My brother was a healthy 57 year old who had recently had a clean physical. He never smoked, didn't drink, and both coached and played lacrosse weekly. 5 ⭐️ My experience has been great!!! The dedication, customer service excellence and caring from all the doctors, nurses and medical assistants at the Miami Cancer Institute and South Miami Hospital has been amazing. Since I started my breast cancer journey, I have found hospitality, hope and support! Had many visits to the Miami Cancer Institute and this place became my second home. Although I have always thought Baptist was a great hospital, I was very disappointed by my most recent visit. I was told I would have 0 co-pay, as I had met my deductible. After I went through with my tests, I got a bill for over $2,000. Apparently, when the baptist rep called my insurance company, the rep said that yes, they were in network. In fact they were not. Baptist misrepresented, and now if I don’t pay the money, my credit will be affected. Totally unfair!
