Through an alleyway and up some steps, one will be transported to something of a different era. The Back Room boasts a big mirrored bar, chandeliers and large scandalous paintings. The old, wooden, dimly-lit space includes bouncy barstools and very comfortable and inviting lounge spaces for large parties, if you can get them. Prohibition-esque booze is served in tea cups. Hey, c'mon, it's a speakeasy! Nevertheless, the Back Room is worth a visit to bring out your inner flapper.

The place has gone downhill. – It's all pretty kitschy, but everyone loves a bit of kitsch when they're drunk. Decor is nice, but save your time and go spend your money at a better bar... unless you really like being treated like sh.t by the bouncer/bartenders, getting served weak drinks in tiny quantities, and being surrounded by tourists, wannabes, and insecure a-holes.
Overrated – The Back Room is fun for about the first 10 minutes. Then you realize that you don't like getting teacups of weak drinks spilled on you as you squeeze through the packed crowds to get to the bar where you're met by a rude and arrogant bartender who refuses to accept your credit card because god forbid you don't want to buy 4 drinks in order to meet the somewhat illegal credit card minimum. Don't go here.
Beautiful and Secretive – great concept for a bar, and a really pretty one at that. my friends from out of town always love the whole "secret" thing, and once we get there it's totally worth it. the tea cups are a little hard to drink from, but worth it for the look. we've always had a good time there!
A little packed but worth the wait – Back Room is a great place, and I love the fact they're 25 and up. I've been here several times, but ended up there again last night with a group of 12 people, no issues getting in. The place was pretty packed, as is their typical Saturday night, but we were able to make our way to the bar quickly and were served right away. Fun place with a bit of secrecy – When I heard there was a bar that was housed in a former toy company that was semi-secret, I was definitely interested. I brought some friends and I did like the place. The bouncer in the front was friendly. After he lets you by you go down a flight a stairs and then up another before walking in. Cool spot, bottom line – I love hidden places ... they're just cool, especially when you go down the stairs and have no idea where you'll end up. It's a big space, and the teacups and brown bags are an interesting twist. The decor is welcoming ... a place to unwind. Thumbs up.
Great Spot, hard to find. – Really great spot, nice ambiente, hard to find this place, no name outside. Drinks served in coffee cups and beer in paperbags. Go early to get a seat if not stand.
Very Cute! – I recently discovered this place and I was very impressed with the decor and couldnt get over how cute and cozy the place was the whole time I was there! However, don't expect to go there without spending alot. The drinks are pricey and served in teacups so they're smaller than usual. Service is slow but with all the specialty drinks they have I am not too surprised. Definitely worth to check out!
