Good experiences everytime ... until now. – I have been going to Azul Tequila for a couple years ... once every couple of months or so. I've always had good experiences. Good food, good staff, great drinks! Unfortunately Friday I had a terrible experiance. In short: - Knats everywhere inside - Slowest service I've ever had, and we were 1 of 3 tables seated in the restaurant - We ordered plates we've had before and loved, but they were inedible on Friday - When we complained the waitress shrugged and said, "Most people like i... read more

Good Mariachi – My partner and I have been going to Azul Tequila for a couple of years now because we love their Mariachi. The food is not bad but their drinks are good. If you are a light weight be careful because they are strong. The best thing on their menu is probably the Caldo de Pollo but my partner likes their nachos and the fajitas.

A strip-mall eatery serving premium margaritas and authentic interior Mexican food, plus Tex-Mex faves. – In Short A bar at the back beckons patrons with a formidable margarita menu. Dining tables are scattered about in a room splashed with green and orange walls, set off by a blue and yellow ceiling, giving the space a warm, sun-baked feel. Quesadillas de masa are stuffed with shredded beef and topped with sliced radishes and cool sour cream. Cochinita pibil are marinated in a musky achiote sauce and served on a banana leaf... read more

Excellent lunch menu – This is a great little place to go for lunch. I've been for dinner a few times, but I feel the value and menu for lunch were more my taste. The lunch menu is very reasonable. I recommend the tortilla soup with chicken enchiladas. The salsa and queso are also very good, not too spicy, but not like stewed tomatoes either. I've read some of the other reviews and am shocked that someone would get that detailed about their inner workings and that they really felt the food to be the cause... I, nor anyone I'... read more

Runny poops for a week – I won't tell a lie, the food was delicious. At the end of the meal, my boyfriend, mom and I could not stop ranting about how authentic and delicious the food was, and about the promptness of the service. However, we did not realize truly how authentically Mexican the food was until the next day...when we all came down with a nasty case of runny poops. But it didn't stop just there, a week later and still every thirty minutes I have to sprint to the bathroom before I shart all over myself. I thought t... read more

Some of Austin's best Mexican food – I've been here at least ten times, and I think it's one of Austin's best Mexican restaurants. I've only had to wait for a table once, and that wasn't very long. The food is really good, especially the fish, the conchinita pibil, the mole and pipian sauce, and the "cowboy relleno," a chili poblano stuffed with shrimp and topped with chipotle sauce. The service is impeccable, the drinks great, and the food some of the tastiest in town. I love this place!

GREAT Food! Austin Tex-Mex Gem! – Being new SW Austinites, we were looking for a good Mexican restaurant close to home. Other restaurants had disappointed these picky diners, but Azul Tequila. Our Thursday evening visit found the restuarant full but with no wait time for a table. We were promptly served a bowl of chips and salsa with just the right amount of heat to it. Based on recommendations we had read online, we ordered the "Chile Relleno en crema" and chicken fajitas. Neither one of us could stop saying "MMMMmmmm". The... read more

explosive diarrhea – beef fajitas wth charro beans, tasted ok. tea too and that was alright as well... about 15-20 minutes afterward , I had to get to a bathroom fast, because I had diarrhea. which I thought might have been intentional, the older lady (who maybe the manager/owner) brought my ten-dollar bill I paid with back to me to request a different bill. The $10 bill was not one of the new issues, but was an older bill. She thought it was counterfeit, I thought she was stupid, I was a regular customer, I got upset and di... read more

Worst resaurant experience EVER!!! – I ordered chalupas and the tostada(the crunchy shell it comes on) was soggy. I asked for cheese on it and didn't get it. My friend ordered enchiladas with no meat but it had meat on it. We wanted to just pay for our drinks and go and the manager was very rude to us because of this. I'm in the service industry so I know good service when I get it. I will never go there again!
