Simply put, Dr. Awner is THE BEST doctor I have ever visited. My 9-year old daughter got diagnosed with cataracts, a very rare condition in someone her age. It's only one day after the surgery, so we're still waiting to see how her recovery goes, but I have complete confidence in Dr. Awner. I've had doctors I've liked and trusted before, but I've never had one who so obviously cared deeply for his patients and who was glad to go the extra mile. Dr. Awner is the best, very professional, great with kids and I wouldn't change him for anything he did surgery on my daughter's eyes when she was 4yrs excellent and now 9yrs I truly trust him and my daughter loves him. Any concerns that I might have he will call me right back not the front desk staff, and that it's really important for my family. The front desk staff is amazing too. Thank you Dr.Awner and staff
My husband and I were very anxious about needing to take our 11month old daughter but as soon as we got there we were impressed. Everyone was nice, the office was colorful and kid friendly, and Dr Awner was wonderful. Nothing but good things to say about our visit.
This doctor goes above and beyond to insure your child is taken care of. My child needed surgery and his compassion he showed during it all to calm my nerves was astonishing. He is by far an amazing doctor and person.
My children have been patients of Dr. Awner’s for over five years. Dr. Awner is absolutely the best at what he does and he always has a calm, respectful demeanor. Don’t be deterred by a longer wait time. Because of the nature of children, the delicacy of the eye and the numerous diagnostic possibilities, why wouldn’t you want a doctor who takes his time? I have been to other Pediatric Ophthalmologists and Dr. Awner is definitely worth the wait!
Doctor continues to be an hour or more behind every single time we’re here. By the time we see him I’m so frustrated I want to leave. He said my child will grow out of her eye issues by 9 then as she aged the age increases. Now she’ll grow out of her issue by 13. Yeah right. Don’t trust him. I’m done. Time for a new doc.
Knowledgeable doctor...poor very poor scheduling and wait times. Always over booked and a constant 1 -1 1/2 hr wait. Very rude receptionist. Never call ahead and warn that they are behind. Rescheduling is 2-3 month wait if they are over booked!!! Never again. Second visit is enough!!
I find them rude and arrogant. They arbitrarily change their policies and procedures about what age children can see the opthamologist vs optometrist. They arbitrarily cancel appointments and then it takes months to get a new one, including those you've had scheduled for an entire year. The office staff is rude.
This is our second time at the office with two different children. Both times the wait was over 45 minutes, I find that very disrespectful. When will doctors learn our time is just as important.
