It nice to have people take in sick and injured birds and make the better
we just found two baby blue jays approx. 2 maybe 3 weeks old that had a nest in a tree that got cut down and we contacted the police and they told us to get ahold of one of ur volunteers . we are very happy that the birds are going to have a chance at life. we had to handle the birds to get them back in their nest so we knew that the mother would not accept them. we would like to be kept up to speed on the lil guys if that is possible? i guess according to the volunteer they will arrive sometime tomorrow. again thank you Avi... read more
just ran my first relay with TWO birds from Dexter. my leg was Newport to Troy. What a fast efficient group of folks!
Avian Haven is a blessing -- for the birds and the humans that try and find them help. Thank you for your compassion for the little pigeon I found with an injured wing. Thank you for always answering my phone calls and helping me get it to one of your volunteers for transport. Thank you for going the distance for what some would consider not worth the effort. Thank you for your comforting and encouraging words.
I have met up with a volunteer twice now, once for an injured duck and another time for an injured turtle.
I called late last night with an injured duckling. As soon as they opened this morning they called me to arrange pickup. Within the hour a volunteer was in my driveway and the baby was on it's way to Avian Haven. I have the greatest confidence that if this little one can be saved, Avian Haven will get the job done!
So thankful for Avian Haven and their wonderful volunteers! I called earlier today about a blue jay that I found on my steps that has an injured wing. Staff was quick to arrange transportation and ensure that I had the bird as comfortable as possible in the meantime. Hope the little bird will be okay! Thank you again!
Thank you to the awesome volunteers at avian haven for sending someone to rescue a baby blue jay that fell from its nest at my home! The response time was amazing, and I could just see the love the lady has for birds as soon as she picked it up. Thank you for all you do! I’m glad I was able to find help for this baby blue jay! It was the 4th of July and you were all there still helping.
