I recently took in a goshawk that had been attacked by a rooster. The staff person was very nice on the phone, gave me great directions and took him right in for xrays as soon as they got him out of the crate. They are not open to the public

My husband saw a dove sitting on the snow, and after an hour he became concerned because the dove had not moved. He went out and found it was frozen to the snow. He was able to pick it up and very gingerly removed ice from feet and chest. He brought him into the warm garage and took care of him/her until he was able to take the dove to Avian Haven where they were more than happy to care for it. I have been involved with Avian Haven for a few years, assisting with transporting injured birds to the rehab center. The expertise, care, and facility are extraordinary. This past summer I had the privilege of volunteering there one day a week. Up close and personal, I saw the amazing team of people who have brought hundreds of birds back to health and release. Thank you for your dedication!
I called Avian Haven on a Sunday afternoon and within minutes they had an amazing volunteer, Woody calling me with a plan to come help the injured bird. She was great and handled the seagull with ease and humor! So grateful for an organization like this.
