We were able to meet up with a volunteer today, on a Sunday (thank you ) to take the injured or sick robin we found this morning. He or she is in the best possible hands.

We have rescued birds before and had a heck of a time finding somebody to help us. When we called Avian Haven, we were able to put the mallard into somebody's capable hands within the hour of making the call.

I don't find these people helpful. There is a nest that needs to be removed as it is posing a health hazard.

We found a fledgling downy woodpecker in Portland and fortunately were able to call Avian Haven before they closed at 6. I sent a picture and we coordinated a meetup with a transporter. I feel so thankful for these people who work so hard across the state to help injured birds. What a great organization!
