I've been here a few times now, so this review is a bit overdue. I moved to NYC from LA, and was looking for a new hair salon, so based on the great Yelp reviews, I bought a Lifebooker deal for Shampoo Avenue B. The first time, I came in for a Brazilian Blowout. They did a great job, and it definitely lived up to what I'm used to (smoothed my hair, lasted 3+ months, etc). Absolutely the BEST!!! I have been getting my hair colored and highlighted for years at various places in NYC - I have tried so many places as I had never found a salon or stylist who did a great job with a reasonable price (I get a full head of highlights with some low lights to look like full coverage color but that grows out well - it's time intensive and normally very,very expensive) Then I found Shampoo Ave B and more importantly Aut -the most awesome (and funny) stylist ever! Emily gave me the best haircut I've had in NYC! She was able to cut my hair just the way I wanted and gave me some good tips for styling my hair in different ways. The people at Shampoo Avenue B are really friendly and I like that customers can make appointments online. (I also like that they have a discount for students!) Even though this salon is not in my neighborhood, it is definitely my new go-to spot!
I love Shampoo Ave B!! I've been going there for years now, mainly for cuts and Brazilian blowouts, and recently for color. For the past six years, I've restlessly bounced from salon to salon searching for a place that could finally get my hair "right." Luckily, I discovered Shampoo Ave B, and I have never been happier! I have been going to Shampoo Avenue B (SAB) for several years now. Prior to SAB, I bounced around trying to find someone who could cut my very straight and thick hair to my standards. Needless to say, I was unsuccessful until my first visit to SAB. From a stylist standpoint, I have only gone to Aut, who I would recommend to anyone.
