When I signed up to Australian Unity I was told the first 6 weeks of cover was free. Turns out that wasn't the case. I was told that the 6 weeks didn't start until after I had been with you for 60 days (July 1st). Last week I rang to ensure no money was coming out of my account on July 1st. I was told that the 6 week's free cover could start anywhere between 60 and 90 days. Something I was not told after the intital misinformation about free coverage. Great care workers but awful company, policies and new changes are all designed to make money for unity and not for the benefit of the clients. So, so many changes with little or no consultation with the client. Clients are either not given a voice or are not heard by Unity. The only thing going for this company are the dedicated and wonderful care workers but the company doesn’t seem to realise that.
Not sufficient notice when changing times/dates of cleaners, but they want 48 hours notice if you want to change or they charge. This is an unconscionable amount of notice for frail elderly people and adds an additional layer of worry that is unnecessary.
DO NOT use this company for aged care services. No empathy, don’t care, NO COMMUNICATION. Only care about PROFIT
