During 1929, when the entire city of Manchester was reeling under the effects of the Great Depression, Dora Mae realized the need for a pub. Everyone around needed a drink to relax and wane away all the worries. Soon word passed and locals started heading here for a pint or two. During the Prohibition era, she operated the pub from the basement of a building. One of my favorite places in the world. A rich tradition of good music and good times!
The waitresses and bartenders are insanely smart and educated. This is the only bar in Manhattan I will ever go to.
