During 1929, when the entire city of Manchester was reeling under the effects of the Great Depression, Dora Mae realized the need for a pub. Everyone around needed a drink to relax and wane away all the worries. Soon word passed and locals started heading here for a pint or two. During the Prohibition era, she operated the pub from the basement of a building. Everything! The best bar ever.
This is the place to go in Manhattan, KS if you're looking for chill people that are into music and support Manhattan Area traditions. Not really a college bar or a sports bar, but more of a speakeasy. The annual Holiday Christmas Lighting ceremony is a blast as are the local acts who perform here regularly.
