I have the forced air humidifier system with the LCD/control box. Had it for almost 4 years and it works great. I replace the filter annually and had to replace the solenoid once. It goes in easy, works well and flawless. It keeps my music instruments from cracking, keeps me from getting shocked touching the doors, and I can lower my temps in winter because the air is "warmer" and I save on my heating bill. I installed it myself, very easy.
The system installed by Lawrence Air in Barrington continues to fail. No confidence in Lawrence Air or Aprilaire, I have a basement with water on the floor and an answering machine telling me they'll get back to me - buying this product was a mistake, 18 months and this is the 5th time they've had to come out here
I'm writing to follow up my last posting. It's been over month and my Aprilaire steam humidifier is still broken. The tech came out twice, but he brought the wrong part. I was able to get only three months of use from my unit. I cannot recommend Aprilaire products to anyone. My wooden musical instruments are taking a big hit and my 3,000 sq/ft of hardwood flooring looks really bad since the humidity dropped too much. So much for being promised stable humidity.
