bad dehumidifiers have had 2 in a row that leaked with high labor costs to replace.
SOUNDS LIKE A FAKE COMPANY, I WOULD NOT TRUST AT ALL
My 1850 works well, but I absolutely hate the model 67 remote control. I can't trust it, and that I can't simply set the humidity to one number is ridiculous for the homeowner. For the last week the remote has been telling me the dehumidifier has been running, but it wasn't. And I only knew about the problem because I put a weather station hygrometer in the crawlspace next to the dehumidifier to act as a back up. After spending over $2000, I shouldn't need a backup.
worst customer service I've ever dealt with. won't sell you parts separately even through a distributor. beware of buying! wasted money buying the 8840 system!
I installed the Aprilaire 1000. There was less dusting to do in my home, less changing filters, and better airflow in my home. I recently put the MERV 13 in. Love and recommend the product.
