This is the portal our landlord uses, all I can say is how did it get an A+? Every time I pay my share of the rent. Even if I have enough to cover. It the portal claims it to be an insufficient amount. Then my mom has to cover the remaining balance. Not to Mention the $9.00 card fee. Attached and the absorbant late fees. Of $60 to $99 This time it claimed that I was short. $489 Even though I had it. Made me reduce it. Now I am $189 short. And yet I get blamed because the portal makes me reduce my portion of the rent. There is non-existence with customer support. Every time I message, its 2 days minimum for a call back just for them to copy and paste what we have already tried into the group chat or a follow up email because they do not know how to use their system. Currently have been ignored by Rhea today for 30 minutes and Javon for over 3 hours yesterday and his excuse was he was on lunch. 1. The echeck fee was waived so I thought I would try to pay through them. 4 days after I am told it hadn't gone through and had to pay with debit card. The "reason" was insufficient funds. It was the same account though. Reading through other commenters I think this might have been part of an unintentional scam through negligence. I tried other means of contacting Appfolio but support seems to be a joke. They lock you into a contract and then, boom, no support. Read for full review. Updated 02/18/2025: Things are getting worse, it seems we were lied to about the capabilities of the software and it is like a software made in the Stone Age, and support has actually gotten worse, if that is possible. We signed up with appfolio with much back and forth with them wanting to lock us in to a 3 year contract and you are not allowed to demo their software, for very good reason! Customer service has gone down the tubes. I have been a long time client and you used to be able to pick up the phone and have people actually resolve your issues quickly and efficiently. We were sold on the service as they had a flat fee policy and now they nickle and dime and add charges left and right. Really think hard before starting up services with them.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!! Don't spend your hard earned money here. Their "CUSTOMER SERVICE" is absolutely ridiculous. There is NO support. The little that they have you have to schedule on their time. Once you do finally have someone on the phone, oh they can help you with this but you will need to schedule another appointment for that which is weeks away.

Don't go with AppFolio. They rushed us into signing on with them and then they set up our software all wrong and it is making it really hard for us to be able to get anything done. We can't get anybody who knows what they're doing to help us, and we have been with them for less than a month. They just took our money and threw us to the wolves. Save your time, your money and your sanity, and do what we didn't do and sign on with Door Loop.

The product has rich features, but lacking some basic ones. Customer Service is some of the worst. I think management at Appfolio has lost site of what's important. You can build the best product, but without proper support, you go for a competitor. And they keep increasing prices every year. Not sure who's running this company to the ground. Do not go to Appfolio. I'm already evaluating other products.
