I will not go to any other salon in NYC for color – I had been trying for years to get that perfect highlighted look at home, only for it to come out red/orange every time and disgusting-looking. too expensive for disappointment – I have been going to Prieto for almost a year & it is very much a random situation. To be fair, the first time I went there, it was complete bliss. The color came-out fabulous & the staff were very attentive & accommodating. But that's where the honeymoon ends. I'm not miserable – I understand why they request all apprentice cut appointments to be paid in advance. While some people do luck out and get decent cuts, I bet there are a lot of people who, after seeing the atrocity committed on their own head, would refuse to pay. I probably wouldn't have been one of them, because I was too much in shock at what my hair looked like. Amazing Haircut and Attentive Staff – I recently received an apprentice haircut from Nick. All I can say is, unbelievable. He actually listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly what I asked for. The attention to detail in the cut as well as the service in the salon is exceptional. I can see why this salon is rated so high. Amazing service!!
Garrett's an Up-and-Comer – I received an excellent cut from stylist, Garrett this past month. He was professional and thorough, and I left feeling like a sophisticated young woman. This was much needed in the dead of winter. The cut is clean, easy and Garrett offered great user-friendly maintenance tips for the modern, everyday, mad-cap rushed woman here in NYC. Ask for Kristin!! – After months of secretly coveting a co-workers hair color I finally mustered up enough courage to ask her who she sees. She immediately said you HAVE to see Kristin! I called the salon and was able to get in the following week. I feel like crying! – I tried Antonio Prieto for the first time after reading some good reviews. I disappointed big time! My hair is now so bad that I actually feel like staying in until it grows longer. I told the stylist pretty much what I wanted but he cut off MUCH more than I wanted - but crucially much more than suits me. Get your haircut with Angie. She is awesome! – I am so glad I found Antonio Prieto Salon. A friend told me about their apprentice program a while ago and I haven't been back to my old hair salon. Angie is amazing. She really listens to what you want and I have gotten so many compliments on the haircuts that she has given me. She also really knows hair. She gave me advice on what works for my texture and style of hair and it's been the best. Definitely ask for Angie if you want a great haircut.
