About this business

A man-made lake provides refuge to wildlife and dozens of tame ducks, providing entertainment for the diners at this long-established San Diego seafood restaurant called the Anthony's Fish Grotto. It also makes the hour-long dinnertime wait much more pleasant for kids and adults alike. Seafood is the best bet here and the daily specials offer great value and delicious preparation. The Clam Chowder, from Anthony's matriarch Mamma Ghio, is renowned, a rich red broth liberally studded with tender clams.

My husband loved the oysters on half shell and lobster. They lost me with cold bread and funny tasting butter. At least my food was hot.

Not what it used to be. Used to get the "scampi" witch was fried lobster. (They eventually became "lobsterettes" and pretty sure langostinos. Still good.) Then they stopped selling them. Great food & ambiance. We sat outside with our dog overlooking the lake. Our waiter was very good and personable - all the staff are! It's definitely a place that I can go after work and relax, enjoy good food, a beautiful good glass of wine and call it a night. I definitely want to do this more often since I'm only about 10 minutes from Anthony's.
