Dr. Schena is a terrible surgeon that completed ruined my knee with a failed ACL graft. I am now getting an ACL reconstruction at a new facility with a much better surgeon to fix all the mistakes Dr. Schena made. I now have to get 2 surgeries to get my acl fixed again. The first surgery is to fill the whole in my tibia because the acl that Dr. Schena put in dissolved due to misplacement of the tunnel and infection. 1) He misplaced the tunnel for my graft. 2) He used biodegradable screws and st

His behavior is selfish, negligent, emotionally immature, and evasive. He has poor communication skills. I was his patient for a year. Him and a Specialist he referred me to made a decision for me regarding my care without my consent, he cancelled an appointment on me without my consent, lied about it, and only apologized once office management uncovered the truth. His behavior improved short-term then he went right back to behaving badly. He did not return an urgent call I had for weeks.

Not at all impressed. I specifically selected Dr. Schena because he was highly rated AND because he lists "Gait Issues" as one of his specialities. I explained the problems I was having with my gait; he had me walk about 15 feet down the hall and back; looked at my x-ray and told me to stop running. That was it! No exercises; no plan; nothing. I actually did stop running for 6 months -- and nothing has changed.

I went to Dr. schena as he was recommended to me by a client. I needed a 2nd opinion for an accident that happened 1 month prior. He diagnosed my injury by 100lbs dog as OsteoArthritis. I asked seriously, what is it going to take to get an MRI? He said I didn't need one because he knew it was my OA, I went to another Dr part of the Emerson Hospital and they agreed that an MRI would tell us more, and it did. I had a turn MCL for 7months with little to no improvement.

I came in on a refferal from my primary care doctor because she believed I had a torn meniscus. At the appointment I was referred to get and MRI and was told I would get my results quickly. When I called for my results they told me I had to wait a month to get them when I come in to see the doctor. When I persisted saying that wasn't unacceptable they told me my MRI was normal. My knee is still swollen and I don't know what is wrong. Made an appointment with another doctor.

Every part of my experience with Dr. Schena and his team was positive. Things were explained to me so I knew what to expect, he took time to answer questions with a smile, and his gentle confidence gave me hope when I was scared. My knee is doing better than expected, and I am very grateful. Dr. Schena is a gifted surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone who cares about receiving the best care & outcomes possible, as well as a warm, highly organized professional experience.

He explained things in such an easy and uncomplicated manner that i knew what was going to happen every step of the way when i had my knee surgery done

I'm a former patient of Dr.Schena, and a failed hip arthroscopy procedure 1.5 years ago. After 6mths of physical therapy post-op, and continued pain, Dr. Schena told me he would give me a referral for a chiropractor. I never received the referral, despite contacting him several times. While I was a current patient, he was very responsive; however, after the failed procedure, continued pain, and lack of responsiveness, it felt like he gave up on me. Disappointed, and still in a lot of pain.
