We had an amazing time yesterday Saturday April 1st 2017. It was out first visit and we were not disappointed. The lines were not an issue for us because we go there at 8 am parked on the streets and walked in. Love love our experience here.

It was nice to see so many Poppies around the reserve. You don't have to park inside the reserve in order to see the Poppies. You can park off the shoulder along the main road leading to the reserve entrance and see as many if not more Poppies than the reserve itself. Just make sure you bring some hiking shoes or sneakers as there are trails on the reserve. And don't forget a hat and sunblock .

We were there yesterday. You have to get there early!! We arrived at 8:15 am and there was a short line of vehicles. Waited a few minutes and were in, parked, and went along our way. The line to the restrooms was about 10 min. When we left a few hours later, the line was super long! The vehicle line was to the gate, the gate was closed and the road was jammed. Get there early!!! We were able to enjoy the beautiful morning and follow the trails to see these beautiful blooms! Took great pictures, had a great time. It was so pr... read more

Extremely crowded and terrible traffic and crowd control. That being said, it's absolutely beautiful.

If you're visiting on a weekend best time to arrive is no later than 8am and park in the lot. You can park on the road and walk in but that's a long hike, especially if you're planning to hike in the Reserve. By 10am (or earlier) there's no place to even park along the road and there's a line of cars at least a mile long waiting to get into the parking lot as cars trickle out and spaces free up. Terrible bathroom situation. Only a few toilets for the masses that line up after their walk. Other than that, it's a real treat an... read more

Beautiful, busy during peak season. My only complaint? Would like to see a couple of rangers on the trails near sunset / dusk.
