The area outside on Lancaster Road was more beautiful. It was VERY crowded, lines to bathroom last for at least half an hour. Strongly suggest using the bathroom in places in Lancaster, CA before driving in. Staff tried their best to help but you can tell that they needed more staff. ARRIVE EARLY or LATE or be prepared to wait in traffic for a long time (an hour?)

Excellent experience! easy to get to from any point in S California. The desert bloom is just mind-blowing; can't miss this opportunity to explore nature at its best.
It was beautiful, we only went to the south east side which we were told is where most of the flowers were blooming. Get there early! We were there by 9:00 and it was already busy but were able to park on the street right near the entrance and walked in.
It was a wonderful day! The Preserve was beautiful. I was very frustrated with people who didn't pay attention to very simple, but necessary requirements to stay on the paths and not being dogs. The last just infuriated me. But fortunately those who work and volunteer there are far kinder than me. Thank you!
You cannot exactly determine when the poppies are in full bloom. But the experience to see them even in their bud formations are already awesome! Amazed that people just like us has to travel quite far just to see for ourselves the beauty of the fields! We love nature and it was such a good hike! ��
