Beautiful the poppies we're in bloom as well as many other wildflowers. It was suggested to go weekdays as weekends have very long wait to get to parking and even though we went in a Friday (yesterday) the lines were long to wait for parking mostly because people were paying by credit card it's much faster if people pay cash. It was well worth the wait absolutely gorgeous and lots of trails to walk around and enjoy. It was windy and cold and windy st the tops of mountains so dress accordingly and bring water
Wonderful place! Especially when the poppies are just right. Best advice. Get there as early as you can during peak poppy season as the parking, lines & crowds can be nuts! Overall just a wonderful way to enjoy the peace, quiet & beauty of the poppies

This place is amazing! That being said, I didn't make it all the way in. I went on a Sunday on the way back from a road trip and the crowds and traffic made it obvious it would take a long time to get in. We stopped along a road outside the reserve and more or less went around it to continue toward home. The hiking trails looked spectacular and our family will return off season or at least not during peak.
Very nice walkway around the poppy fields. We also parked outside of the park where it was less crowded and was able to get better photographs.
