We came from Thousand Oaks and that was 4 hours of round trip driving on the freeways. We spent a total of three hours at the Reserve. The poppies were beautiful and the weather was very nice, though a bit windy. When we got there, it took us 50 minutes to wait in line in the car to get in, 45 minutes waiting in line to use the toilets, and the rest of the time walking among the fields, snapping pictures. ...

It was amazing to see the carpet of different colors and is something different from the usual weekend plans.

I couldn't imagine how beautiful a desert is in bloom. Poppies look like small pieces of the sun scattered through out the desert. Winds never stop blowing here.

What an amazing view. Never knew that hectares of gorgeous wild flowers 🌺 exist an hour away from Los Angeles. Best time to see is in the afternoon before sunset 🌅.

Fantastic experience, beautiful abundance of flowers. The line of cars to park was managed perfectly. It is disheartening to watch flowers get stepped on because people can't follow directions. Stay on the path people!!
