I'm ready to return to the poppy fields! I love this landscape -- quiet, meandering, orange, yellow, purple. A lovely, contemplative location. Now that I've been here, next time I'll wear a thicker jacket and winter cap. Cold wind whipped right through my windbreaker, and it chilled my ears. The volunteer who greeted us along one of the trails was incredibly nice and informative. Be sure to pick up a brochure from the gift shop counter that describes the flora, including fiddlenecks and goldenfields.
The Poppy Reserve is gorgeous and I'm so grateful we visited. I'm reading other reviews and just shaking my head as people complain that they are not allowed to trample the flowers for an impromptu photo shoot or advise people to just park on the road to avoid paying the preserve for the amazing space they have provided for wild flowers in the area.
