I had seen 2 other GI Drs. 1) his staff was horrible and rude 2) LOVED him but he was EXTREME!!! Was talking about taking out my colon?? Craziness! Saw Dr Longacre.... LOVED HER!! Got off several meds and started a probiotic VSL#3... changed my life. Don't get me wrong.. I have problems at times but she's always there!
Very brief visit. Did not do a thorough review of symptoms and failed to recognize joint swelling as a symptom to IBD. When she learned the patient was uninsured she became very cold and dismissive.
Seemed more interested in pushing more costly diagnostic procedures than in listening or helping. When I was having flare up for over a week & called in for help, my message went unanswered for days. Nurse suggested taking more meds than had been prescribed until she could get an answer from dr. several more days without any answer. I called another GI, scheduled appt, was seen & treated with good results before I had an answer from this office & that was to add more meds known to worsen problem
