I made a same day appointment with this available doctor due to stomach pains. She ordered some rush testing and I was on my way for blood work and a scan. After leaving I realized that I had received no instructions on treatment in the meantime, no follow up appointment, etc. You get a better listing of do’s and don’ts and suggestions when leaving a minute clinic. Was very disappointed with my visit. She spent less than 10 minutes in the room. Quick to want to prescribe medication. Didn’t seem concerned with medical history before talking of 2 medical procedures. Discussed dates for doing these in the lower level of building. 5 minutes after leaving room, medical assistant came in with a card from Welstar pertaining to a different procedure that she had not mentioned to me. I am an OR RN; I researched GI doctors in the Acworth area for my brother who has had cancer of the colon twice. His colorectal surgeon wanted him to get an upper scope. Dr. Longacre trained at Yale where I worked and which is a "mecca" so one would have thought this doctor was well trained. My brother shows up for the upper scope, he's sitting there in his hospital gown when Dr Longacre expresses confusion, says she wanted him to have a specific type of upper which she doesn't do. she took the time to sit and review my last colonoscopy in detail and explained ways to attempt to cut back on my current medication.

Excellent experience. Dr. Longacre made me feel very comfortable and explained the procedure and put me at ease. Very professional.
Love Dr. Longacre, and would recommend to anyone having gastro issues. she truly wants you to feel better and will do whatever she can to make that happen. including pushing back on the insurance companies. i worked for a company that changed carriers every year, and every year I had an issue with my prescriptions, but Dr. Longacre took the time to fight for me and what I needed for my condition. You can tell she stays busy and sees a lot of patients, but when she is with you, she is with you.
