Overly sure of himself. Does not consider pain, functionality, or medical issues when making a decision whether to operate. Blamed insurance for not doing surgery, when other surgeons did not. Rothman is awful. They have protocols in place that put profits way before patient care. Another surgeon is willing to take the few minutes to substantiate the need for surgery, Rothman surgeons are not. Dr. Star has a sterling reputation, and it's well-earned based on my experience (right hip replacement). Everything was clearly explained, no rush, no push, and the surgery was as wonderful as surgery can be. Shout-out to the entire staff at Rothman-Doylestown for professionalism and kindness. I tossed the cane after 2 weeks and was virtually back to normal at 6 weeks. Great doc, great crew.
I would highly recommend Dr. Star if you are in need of a hip replacement. Dr. Star did my right hip four years ago and now he replaced my left hip. I am two weeks post op, no meds and hope to be off the cane this week. He will listen to you and try to answer any questions you may have. His staff is knowledgeable and extremely efficient.

I highly recommend Dr Star and his surgical team. They are the best. My hip replacement surgery was one year ago today. It went smoothly and was very successful in every way. I took no narcotics only acetaminophen to control pain and for only 2 weeks. I can do things now that I haven’t done in a years. I should have done it sooner. I have seen Dr Star professionally several times over the past 10 years. He has always been cheerful, courteous, professional, and skilled. He explains procedures clearly and thoroughly. He listens carefully.
