I am displeased with America’s Best location in Colonial Heights, Virginia. So much so that I am writing this review while on hold for 15 minutes and counting, simply checking if my glasses have been delivered after now waiting almost 3 weeks. I know with the pandemic that things are delayed. However, this is not my first time purchasing eye glasses at this location. Professional courteous service and they had the frames I wanted.
I had made two separate calls to check if they accepted my insurance and to set up appointments. They assured me that they accepted my insurance and they set me up an appointment. I get there and they tell me, I am sorry but we do not accept your insurance, we haven't since July 31st. I set up the appointment August 9th for August 15th. The woman was very hasty about she would have never made that appointment if I had expressed what insurance I had, but I had asked 3 times if she accepted it on the phone. I made an appointment for my daughter online and when I made the appointment they asked for her birthday which I provided, only to find out on the day of the appointment as we are standing there waiting to be seen, that the doctor refuses to see her because she is not 7. What is the point of asking for and receiving her information if it does no good in determining BEFORE we get there is she can be seen.
I was in and out, they took me back before my appointment time and I checked out their web site to look at glasses before going so I knew what I wanted. Kathleen was great and so was Minh Nguyen, O.D.
Just letting everyone know that I do not recommend America’s Best in Colonial Heights. They didn’t bother to tell me about the company wide military discount for May and when I asked them about it after I had already paid and was picking up my glasses they refused to refund or honor the discount. 15% of $280 is $42. I hope the loss of future business is much more than that.
