This was a tedious process but having AVA to help and make sure the application and supporting documents were in order to submit was a relief. The application was received by the VA, processed and pension received with no difficulties.

American Veteran Aid has been a wonderful organization that helped me help my mom attain some veterans benefits we didn't know previously existed. Every person I spoke to was helpful & knowledgeable and had a calming effect, making the potentially chaotic process fairly simple and much easier to complete than expected. In speaking with AVA, it was communicated to me that I would receive the fee of $1575.00 back with the first payment which was not the case. I understood that the fee would be processed based on the application date. I was also lead to believe that my mother would be eligible for full benefits which was also not the case. The staff is fully accommodating but very misleading. No one reaches out to assist after the application is complete. You are no longer of concern to anyone at AVA. AVA lead the charge for my mother-in-law to secure funds for a desperate situation. She was also able to achieve 2-months back pay during the process. Agent Ardee Diamante as well as VP of Finance & Client Relations Joyce Navarro-Lucca saved my wife & I from some uncomfortable decisions without this award. The mounds of paper-work & helpful advice were invaluable if not impossible to conquer on my own. American Veterans Aid truly exceeded my expectations. Throughout my initial contact with them, they were extremely professional, courteous, and always available for assistance. They are honest with a great deal of integrity. Because of my mother's advanced age, they were able to expedite the process, and she was approved to receive her benefit in less than one month. I would give American Veterans Aid 10 stars if I could! They exceeded my expectations in customer service and follow-through to help me with the overwhelming paperwork that needed to be completed to apply for VA benefits. How refreshing to work with an organization where people answered their phone! Thumbs up to American Veterans Aid and my case worker Angela Verdeflor !!! I was trying to get assistance for my mother. I spent all of 2 years trying to get the correct paperwork filled, speaking to people from the VA. Sometimes waiting for over an hour to speak to anyone. Without seeing the American Veterans Aid ad, we wouldn't have known that this "Aid and Attendance Benefit" even existed for WWII Vets. On behalf of my 94 year old veteran Dad Jim, we want to give a big THANKS!!! to all those wonderful people at the AVA! Especially our Case Manager Ardee Diamante, who was so helpful in explaining everything and answered my many emails so promptly.
