We contacted American Veterans Aid to get help for our Mom since recently moving in to an assisted living. Their communication with me and my family was quick and very informative. Everything they said they could do for my Mom once we were able to provided the necessary documentation went exactly as they said. AVA was a very supportive group. I was exceptionally pleased with Madeline S., the case manager who monitored and guided us through every step we took. Even when our family had our own internal challenges, she was patient and ready to help. Because of their detailed process, our packet was complete with all required documents, and as a result, was placed on the VA fast track and approved. I would certainly recommend AVA to anyone applying for VA assistance.

We found American Veterans Aid to be a tremendous help in applying for aid for our mother, a spouse of a wounded WW II vet. They kept us completely informed of our progress and what still needed to be done. Madeline S**** and Joyce N************ were a pleasure to work with. I lucked out finding AVA when searching for how to apply for VA Aid & Attendance. My situation was complicated as I became POA for my stepfather on Aug 31st when he moved to Assisted living. All accounts and mail had to be changed to me as well as access to his accounts. My AVA advisor was invaluable as I navigated through this. If anyone has a claim to file, Americans Veterans Aid is definitely the only way to go. Ardee D******* and his staff were very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and responsive. When we started the process, my dad was ill and eventually passed away before it was completed. Ardee informed us that my mom was also eligible for caregiver service, so we switched the process and completed the paperwork for her caregiver service. These people are terrific to work with. They make the process easy to navigate. You need this help in order to be successful in this process. When the VA sends you a letter about an issue ,you just send it to AVA and they will take care of the problem. Well worth the cost to help navigate the confusing and at times frustrating VA system.

I am a Viet. vet. I started this process in early June of 2020. My son found this org on the web. From start to finish it took about 4 mos. due to all the paperwork required from the nursing home and myself. When I received the benefit, it was back dated when I started the process. My thanks go out to my case worker, Ardee D******* and his supervisor for helping me in this process. My mother went into assisted living in late July of this unusual year. We had never heard of the benefits available to war veteran's spouses until we had a chance visit with an old friend who had just been through this process with her mother.
