Thank all of you (Devin S, Mari F, Judith H) and everyone else who was helpful in making this be a success for my mother getting her benefits. Everyone work well and made things go smooth and easy. No stress on my part. They quoted how long the process will take. I contacted American Veterans Aid in February 2016, completed the application and mailed it in to the Department of Veterans Affairs for April 2016 and my mother received her first check on July 2016. Everything was done less than six months. In order for this to wo... read more
I am very grateful for the assistance we received from the American Veterans Aid.They made the process smooth, concise and stress free. We never would have received the approval so quickly on our own. We were approved within 60 days from start to finish. I contacted AVA originally in February but didn't make the decision to contract for services until May. Had we not waited we would have received the first check in April. The staff is professional, courteous and available to answer all your questions and concerns. It was the... read more
We had a fantastic team handle our case. My Dad is in his 96th year and he really needed this benefit as soon as possible as his wife just died and his care requirements going up. American Veterans Aid not only knew what to do, made us aware of the benefit, but also made sure no errors where made. They beat their own aggressive timing with our case. I only hope things will work out for others as good as it did for us (my Dad was a Veteran from WWII). We had the most positive experience that you can expect from any firm handl... read more
These people were professional from the beginning of the process to the end of the process. They were outstanding.
When faced with completing the application process for the Aid in Attendance Benefit for my dad I was overwhelmed and totally confused by paperwork needing to be collected and forms completion. I contacted American Veterans Aid and was assigned a case worker who explained which documents needed to be obtained and how to complete the forms for each step. With the personal attention, counselling, and assistance provided I was able to correctly complete and submit the VA packet in a few weeks. I began the process at the end of ... read more
I had occasion to use AVA services this past spring. After moving my elderly parents into an assisted living closer to my home, I had contacted the local Veterans Association office regarding their Aid and Assistance Program. I was flat-out told to "forget it" because my parents had too much in assets ($15000 plus a paid up condo). At the urging of the Assisted Living facility, I contacted the AVA. They were instrumental in assisting me in setting up a trust and making the arrangements to file the claim accurately. They even... read more
This is a very concerned and helpful organization. When I first heard of them from a nurse at the hospital I had know idea how to go about how to apply for aid and attendance. AVA was very courteous and helpful in gathering all needed information to be sent in.In less than 3 months I was notified of approval. Thank you
Applying for benefits is a difficult task at best and these people made the process much smoother, and although gathering the information can be tedious, it was all worthwhile in the end when that check from the VA was deposited in my dads account. It only took 6 weeks from the time we received confirmation that the paperwork was received, till that first check went into the bank. Not sure this would have happened at all if it weren't for Veterans Aid. Thank you!!
I used American Veterans Aid to help my father in law receive his "Aid and Assistance" benefit through the VA this past year. He was a Korean war veteran and is 89 years old. American Veterans Aid employees were extremely helpful and helped me wade through all of the paperwork and submissions that would have been impossible to figure out without them. After 10 months we finally received aid for my dad and it's been wonderful to be able to see his living expenses augmented with $1780 a month from the VA. This has been a huge ... read more
