Card price hike is Racketeering! What is 'Racketeering' Racketeering, often associated with organized crime, is the act of offering of a dishonest service (a "racket") to solve a problem that wouldn't otherwise exist without the enterprise offering the service. Racketeering as defined by the RICO act includes a list of 35 crimes. If convicted of racketeering, a person could serve up to 20 years and be fined up to $25,000.

I am very disappointed about the increase in cards. I was notified by my local training center that cards had increased to $19 each!! I am a school nurse and I certify many of the schools in my area, even those where I don’t work. Schools are struggling with a budget crisis anyway and now this. I will be looking elsewhere to certify my staff.

I have taught CPR for the same training center. I teach a lot of people in my area. I just got an email saying my card are going up. I paid $5 for a card and now have to pay $20 a card. Most of my people can not afford this much of a raise. This is crazy to raise them that much. What happened to wanting the public to learn CPR. You are going to have less people learning because of the raise. Dumb thing to do!!!

Sad to see the significant increase of CPR cards with no clear warning to allow for time to plan. This change will have a direct correlation with the reduction of the amount of members of the community that are credentialed to administer CPR.

AHA has screwed the pooch. I am a firefighter and educator. I will immediately be looking for an affordable alternative. You are destroying your business model by trying to maximize return vs. maximizing the # of ppl trained. What an incredible and tone-deaf mistake. This will be an historic moment for the AHA and will serve as a lesson for non-profits everywhere. Don't behave like a corporation.

I have been an instructor with AHA for 32 years and owned a Training Center since 1995. I just had to close it due to the recent price increase of the cards. From 48.00 for a pack of 24 to 408.00!!!! I miss when AHA actually cared about the public and training. It's all greed now, I am now teaching Ashi through HSI.
