There are two cards in my wallet that are most important to me. My union card has been the one that is most important. We need to actively assert the importance of the Teachers Union for the benefit of democracy as well as the advancement of teachers in America. We educate those who will be in charge of our country in the future. Our union and other unions must prosper.
As I was sitting on the lawn of our Texas rally yesterday thinking about joining AFT, your president came on the stage with a lot of energy and started out great. But by the end of her speech, I was completely turned off from joining and will not join because she turned her speech to gun control... and that is not what we were there for, and it is not what I believe in nor most of the people on that lawn! I am extremely disappointed that AFT would use bullying tactics in an attempt to get Wells Fargo Bank to stop doing business with LEGAL businesses that do not fit the political agenda that AFT "thinks" it's members support. We teach our students not to bully, and AFT's tactics are a poor example.
Should not be telling a bank who they can do business with!! I will be opening an account now with Wells Fargo
