Sub-Standard Front Staff Service I have taken 4 pets (all cats) to this clinic. Regarding the first three, I adopted stray kittens so I had them fixed at AVC. Everything went smoothly and I was extremely satisfied. I was comfortable recommending them to friends, neighbors, and family. The experience with my fourth cat, however, has not been as positive. Dr. Coakley as the Dog Whisperer:) My beloved best friend, Roscoe passed Jan. 22nd, 2009. He was a 130lb Cane Corso, an Italian Mastiff. He was 9 years old. And that was 9 yrs of loyalty, protection, love, comfort, and hilarious, action packed fun. Roscoe had an incredible personality. He also weighed more than me and was quite a handful, to say the least. It was truly a remarkable relationship. Unfortunately his life came to an end with bone cancer. Amazing Vets I have gone to this vet for years. They are the only vets i trust with my show dogs. For those whose say it is to long to wait tell that to your animal who is getting the best care. They are the best and will always be my favorite. They do so much good and God Bless them for it.
They are the best! I love this clinic. They have been very helpful and treat my animals like little babies. I recommend them every chance I get when someone asks for a good vet.
Dr Finley….Bo's hero! I have taken all of my animals to Alvarado for over 20 years. Dr. Finley performed multiple surgeries on my sweet Bo over the years.Bo didn't like many people but he loved Dr. Finley. When the time came and we had to put Bo down Dr. Finley cried with me. treated a dog without owner consent that was non emergent treated a dog without owner consent that was non emergent woman put the bill in my name and they accepted that now i have to pay 100.00+ for things I THE OWNER did not consent to. ran unnecessary tests for a non existent cough and gave "just in case" antibiotics then did xrays without consent and gave worming medication to a dog that had already been wormed and was clean. Beware of Dr. Finley! I am giving this clinic an "Unsatisfactory" for one reason: Dr. Finley. The other doctors and techs are great, but Dr. Finley is awful. Do not trust him with your animals! After having a similar issue with him being condescending years ago, we requested any doc BUT him for years, with no problems. Today, I took my dogs in for shots, blood work, and teeth cleaning.
