Best meal of my life. By a distance.
I've been to a lot of fine-dining experiences, but this one was my all-time favorite. From the staff, setup, dishes, wine, etc. you could do no wrong. A must-visit "bucket list" place for any serious foodie.
Very special experience again at Alinea restaurant. From the 'frog block' to the magically floating rhubarb stalk (don't ask...), it was a spectacular night out. First time I discussed Norwegian Black Metal with a waiter in a 3 star restaurant, by the way. Probably the last time too.
Was lucky enough to get tickets a week before we came over from Hawaii. Then I had the BEST meal of my life!! Every dish that came out, I remember thinking,"I just had the best thing I've ever eaten!!!" The "Black Truffle Explosion" is insane!! (And also the best thing I've EVER put into my mouth). Pau!!!
I was fortunate enough to get tickets for my 30th birthday. The gift was much appreciated and the experience was much more than I could wish for. Ever single part of the meal, from the timing, the serve ware, to the course itself was expertly executed. I didn't do the full pairing but was able to get an abbreviated pairing without issue. The sommelier will hand hold you through a selection should you need it. It was well worth the trip and will be a memory I have forever.
