Just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Atlanta, this hidden treasure provides a great escape for those who just want to relax and eat southwestern food. Enjoy the patio, with a drink or two if you wish. The cooking is eclectic and fresh here, from the spectacular seafood (try the stuffed trout tomatillo) to the shredded port tostadas. Atlanta's Premier SW Dining Establishment. – I went to Agave a few nights ago with a group of friends from New York. I can say that Agave was the only place that these picky eaters were just amazed. From that Top Shelf Margarita they serve to the wonderrful spring rolls and excellent entrees. Those jumbo shrimp I had were outstanding! We dined on their new Fireplace patio, the ambiance is great and the staff always seems genuinely happy. Alisha our server was great. The owner of the eastablishment came over to ensure we had ... read more
A bit of a disappointment – Recently went to Agave again and really felt they have slipped. The margarittas used to be excellent but something was different. I could not quite figure it out. The food was good, but not great and portions were smaller than I remembered. Service was still good.
Excellent Southwestern – I went here with a group of six and we had a great experience. The margaritas were huge and perfectly done - not too sweet or too strong. I ordered the pulled pork tacos and thought they were amazing. Plus, the service was awesome. Highly Recommended!!
Great Food – This was the best meal that i have had in a while. I stuffed myself b/c the food was sooooo good that i didnt want to leave any on the table. I would go again without a question
Go to Taco Bell instead – I was at Agave last week on a date. The place has nice ambience, and the wait staff was friendly and prompt. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas and was utterly disappointed. Very bland and over-cooked is how I would describe it. I didnt want to complain because I was on a date so I ate it, until I got to the last couple of bites at which point I had to excuse myself to go spit it out in the toilet. Terrible. Still I was just going to pay my bill and leave when the waiter asked if everything was ok. So... read more
Extremely Impressed – As an out-of-towner in Atlanta on business, I consulted CitySearch to find a place to eat near my hotel. Agave sounded good so I gave it a shot. I was astounded! The New Mexico Hatch Green Chile stew is unbelievable. The best I've had this side of Los Alamos, NM! The Diablo Crawfish Pasta was great as well. I WILL be back - this was truly a taste treat!
But it hurts soooo good!! – This somewhat eclectic hodgepodge of southwestern decor meets reminiscent 1800's cotton mill general store packs a wallop when it comes to service with a smile!! Not a half-cracked one that many of our in-town eateries have become infamous for. The food is amazingly consistent and the cocktails are some of the best in the city. The food is spicy but manages to maintain it's layering of flavors, thus pleasing even the most timid palates! My hat's off, other's should take cue!!
I live Agave very much – The food is good, the atmosphere is nice, the service is good (if some of the waiters don't seem terribly experienced, the attitiude is still friendly and attentive). The menu is inviting (though unless you like tomato soup you may want to pass on the mussell- try them at Blue Trout instead) I've always had a very pleasant experience there. The new "front" room gets very loud when it's busy, so you may want to ask for a table in the older dining room.
Very Much... – Overrated. Food was nothing special. You don't get what you pay for. Margaritas also overrated.
