My aunt is currently hospilized here and we can not get any answers from her MRI. She had a gallstone removed and she was still feeling very sick. Her daughter asked for an MRI to be done and Dr.Berette did not want to do it but since we pushed back we finally got the MRI on Saturday. It is now Sunday night and we have still not had radiology review her MRI. They are saying other patients are taking presedence over her but it seems like they do not have any radiology staff yo me. I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the service at Shady Grove Hospital's Emergency Room. My experience, and that of other patients I observed, showed a concerning lack of timely and attentive care. Patients seeking urgent medical attention were subjected to wait times of up to five hours in the waiting room before being seen. Compared to Germantown ER , this felt like day and night. Erick , you are a wonderful Nurse and thank you for taking care of me so well while I was in so much pain . I cannot remember the name of the PA ( 08/13 ) but she was excellent . She really paid attention to the fact that I needed something for my pain till I could get the surgery. Shady Grove ER has improved from 2013 when it was a disaster. Erick , thank you again and the P.A. too.

The absolute worst er and ICU ever. If I were able to drive to Baltimore from Gaithersburg, I would have gone to John Hopkins er. I came to er after pooping out clear water 50 times then drinking water to compensate that, about 30 liters or something. I got dizzy a headache, heartburn couldn't stand or walk . waited 2hrs or more. Why the hell didn't they admit me immediately when it's life threatening is beyond me. Why I was dizzy couldn't walk ...well my sodium went down to 109. That's life threatening and should be treated... read more

Updating my review because the last two times I've been at the ER have been quite positive. In the past, I've had really nasty attendings, although the nurses have always been great. This morning (6/26) I was experiencing terrible pain and I knew it was my kidney because just a few week earlier an urgent care doctor said I had a kidney infection.
