Steakhouse staples and an appropriately upscale atmosphere in the Back Bay. – In Short Families and packs of salespeople tuck into their meals, linen napkins buttoned to their collars (literally--the napkins come with button-holes). From the dark-veneered wooden booths to the roaring fireplace and dessert cart, someone worked overtime to ensure that this multi-chambered space lives up to the clubby aesthetic of the New York steakhouse stereotype. The usual steakhouse staples proliferate: charred rib eye, carefully grilled sa... read more

I wouldn't – Few places are as consistently rude and pompous. I am frequently forced to bring clients to Abe and Louie's due to work stipulations and never seem to have a pleasant experience. The Maitre d's that "welcome" you do so in a way that exudes arrogance and superiority. This would be excusable if the food backed it up, but I find that Abe and Louie's rides on their name and "reputation", and delivers a subpar meal and overall dining experience. You can definitely get over charged at much finer places

Review reader - A returning customer. – It's funny. I was reading all the review before taking my boyfriend here for his birthday. I've been to A&L's before, but it was years ago and I didn't quite remember what it was like. I was a bit nervous because I really wanted him to have an excellent meal on his birthday. The person who answered the phone was a bit rude so I was VERY nervous that the waiters might be the same way. Not true at all. (We went on a Thursday night) First of all, it is LOUD in there. Most of its customers... read more

Never disappointed – Abe and Louies can't be beat. I have never had a bad meal here. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable and although the bill can add up, you get what you pay for. I recommend trying the creamed spinach (their no cream version) for a side. Pair your meal with a great martini from the bar or allow the server to suggest a complimentary wine to your meal, either way you won't be disappointed.

Never had a better steak! – Since I moved to Boston 4 years ago, Abe & Louie's has been my favorite restaurant. We've gone for anniversaries, valentines, company dinners and Thanksgiving twice! The filet is the absolute best I've ever tasted, the seafood tower is worth every penny if you have a group of 6 or more. I cannot say enough about this place and I recommend it to everyone. if you're looking for a top notch steak and seafood place this is it. I guarantee you won't be dissapointed!

Best fine dinning in Boston – I have eaten here several times and I am never dissapointed with the highly attentive and friendly wait staff. They are extremely knowledgable and very friendly. The food here is to die for! I am not a steak eater, but everyone I know who eats a steak from here cannot stop raving about it...also the sordfish is unbelievable! If you like salads try the Abe and Louies salad it is very good. This place is clean and friendly, not snobby or pretentious by any means! Be prepared to pay a pretty price ... read more

Best Boston Steak House – As a frequent customer of Abe and Louie's I would like to highly recomend this steak house. The food is fabulous and can stand alone as a reason to dine there. The servers are above and beyond a typical wait staff, professional, sweet, and interesting. Abe and Louie's has a comfortable classy friendly ambiance with a large management staff on at all times to assist costumers as well as a friendly welcoming host staff. The hostess here are classy and professional, not to mention very beautiful. I can... read more

Best steaks in town – First time in Boston and we asked a local for the best steaks in town and he said, "Abe & Louie's". He was right. We were a group of 4 and just walked right off the street without reservations, (which I would definetly recommend). We didn't wait long, though. Our waiter was wonderful and treated us with kindness and a touch of humor. He took the time to explain the menu and offered different options. We started off with the Best Clam Chowder we had ever tasted. Then we headed straight for the main cours... read more
