I don't like the atmosphere here at all - the receptionists and staff are just annoying and snooty. Also, like others said, the bathroom is lousy at these prices. But I did like my cut by Chris Creech and thought he was a great value for the quality of cut I got! I hear only negative things about the salon otherwise and experienced the same. If you can deal with bad atmosphere, see Chris - he's the best
Feels Like a Vacation – They re-did the interior of the salon and it looks terrific... kind of calming, but you still feel like you are getting some of the best service and skills in town from the hair stylists. I've been going there for five years and I'll be going for another five.
Fabulous Pedicure – This was the first appointment I made before my trip to San Francisco. Then I started reading and hearing horrible things (posted afterwards). I am SO glad we kept our appointment. 77 Maiden Lane Salon was a quick walk from our hotel which was in Union Square. 77 Maiden Lane is a cute Lane with shops and restaurants lining it (and opera singers taboot!) awful experience – Horrifing experence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had someone color my hair and it was awful! I could have done a better job. The owner hung up on me and was extremely rude. I will never go back and I do not recomened that anyone ever goes there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! – I HAD MY FIRST TRIP TO 77 AFTER HEARING SO MANY WONDERFUL THINGS FROM MANY CO-WORKERS. THE STAFF WAS SO FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGABLE FROM THE RECEPTIONIST ON THE PHONE TO THE CASHIER THAT RANG ME OUT. I HAD ANDREA FOR COLOR, AND SONIA FOR A BRAZILIAN WAX.THEY DID THE BEST JOB, I WENT HOME EXTREMELY HAPPY AND WILL GO BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN.ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!!! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS SALON AND SPA !!!!!!
Great Brazilian – Since they were under construction when I went there, the environment was not great (and they didn't tell me they were under construction when I booked my appointment). I was put into this room with a divider in the middle. So you are basically in the same room with another customer. I wasn't too happy about it, but Yolanda was great. Service Great -Even during retrofit – Only in San Francisco - The whole buidling is doing an earthquake retrofit - which makes the spa look a little 'under construction'. I was very pleased with my color and hair cut, I'm just glad they're open during the retrofit - because I can't imagine finding a better colorist than Gary anywhere in the city.
BEWARE!! – I have never been compelled to write such a negative review. Had waxing done and the service and result was awful. I have waxing done very frequently, however, this time my eyes and bikini line were severely bruised from such a botched job. I wouldn't recommend this spa/salon to anyone- not even a dog. Their people are undertrained and there is LOUD construction going on overhead all of the massage rooms!!! What a terrible experience!
this place is all hype! – i came here after hearing about it left and right in various magazines, thinking since it's in the maiden lane must be somewhat nice... i merely had my eyebrows done but overall had a horrible experience. they know what they are doing but i have not come across such a snooty bunch of people... well, at anastasia in beverly hills they were just as snobby but the service, skill, and decor way surpasses maiden lane. disappointing
