I am a current member and former 24 Hour Fitness employee. Since the gym was understandably closed on the 16th, I have been charged 3 times, total of just shy of $160. My normal billing date is consistently the 16th or 17th, so I was charged March 16th, the day they closed, March 24th for my annual fee, and then again just yesterday April 14th. 24 sent out a letter saying all fees the 16th and onward will be suspended. How is this company still allowed to charge members for services that they cannot provide? Why is my credit card still being charged for something I can no longer use due to covid-19? How is this NOT fraudulent? In addition to this issue, 24 hour fitness has shutdown their phones, so we cannot even call and cancel our membership, and in addition to that, there is no option for cancelling your membership online. Dishonest business ethics! Horrible Customer Service. Call bank to block charges immediately. Pattern of taking customer's money, not delivering service. Are closed, no one answers at at local club. 24 Hour Fitness closed their call center, do not return emails and auto withdraw money, despite CoVid19. Agree, class action lawsuit. Started charging without sending USPS mail notifications or providing options, notifications, reminders, etc for customers watch out! We demand our money back!

I can't believe that it's April 15 and I'm still getting charged for my membership and I haven't been able to go to the gym for over a month now. They should've been suspended everyone's account by now. I can't afford to have them taking any money out my account. I need that money to support my family. I need and want my $40 back.

Gym closed due to mandatory lockdown. Still being charged for a gym I cannot use.

When this shelter in place order was placed on March 13, I was surprised to see the money taken out of my account on the 15th. There was no way I was going to have access to the facilities. The company made it super hard to get through given only opportunity to have your voice heard is through email. So many people complained that the CEO said that the money that was taken out would just be added to the end of your membership. During a national pandemic in March 2020, 24 Hour Fitness left members with no way to cancel memberships! Clubs were closed, and they did not answer the corporate phones. So I notified them by certified mail to cancel my membership. They have ignored this legal communication and instead charged my credit card twice since being notified! How many other people have been charged? If this is systematic fraud, the DA needs to investigate and bring charges! I will never EVER join this club again.
