For Looking, Not Buying Fun If you are a window shopper or love cool, interesting, or gross things, Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is a good place to kill some time. It might be a little intense for younger kids, but those who appreciate the weird will have a great time. The prices are a bit high, so everytime I go there I just browse. They do not have a lot of conventional stuff anyways, but that is the point of this store.
Ye olde curiosity shop is lives up to its name. Ye olde curioisty shop is one of the best shops in seattle. It isn't just another gift shop. They have two real mummies on display, Weird stuff in jars and other weird stuff. The stuff they sell isn't as weird as their displays but almost. Best of all it is free to get in.
Odd but Interesting This is a cute tourist trap on Seattle's Waterfront. This store is one of those not to miss ones. While the shopping is very ho-hum (think tourist gift type items, ie shirts, toys, etc) there is a bigger draw. This store has many authentic historical items shich as coins, knives, and baskets. The largest draw is the 2 mummies that you can get up close and personal with. Well, not that personal as they are behind glass, but close enough for my tastes. They also have a collection of shrunken heads which wer... read more
Great prices on souvenirs and so many neat things here! Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is located on the Seattle Waterfront, just north of the Ferry Terminal and Ivar's Fish & Chips (look for the dancing clam on the weathervane).
Their name says it all Yes this place is full of oddities and cool neat things. It's a great place to find that unique gift, or to just look around and see all the strange things that I'm not even sure how to describe. Kids love coming here and always seem to get a kick out of squishing a penny. It's a big part of Seattles history and it's been here for what seems like forever.
Ye Olde Curiosity Shop This is a really cool place to go if you are in the area. They have some really cool novelty stuff. The store has been around forever and has some great stuff. The prices are pretty darn good too. The poeple who work there are cool also. It is a great place to go for small gifts for people in your life.
touristy fun This is a classic. There is a mummified mermaid and a real mummy, carved grains of rice and every manner of touristy knickknack to buy. Some greta old photos and I always love the penny mill. Actually the whole waterfront has penny mills that are pretty cheap souveniors and fun to make.
Tourist central Everyone - tourist and resident alike - MUST go to the store. Its a little wierd - okay a lot wierd - but that's why you have to go. Need a Seattle trinket? They've got. Shotglasses, mugs, t-shirts, kids souvenirs (jump ropes, pencils, etc) and knick knacks galore here.
beware the tourists! okay, I've lived in seattle for eight years and have only been here a few times but it is always great to spend some time feeling like a visitor. they have those cool olde tyme nickel machines where you get a 1920's peep show. (HILARIOUS!)
