A great place to browse If you haven't been, you have to go! This is the oddest store that you can wander for at least an hour in! It's not as much a place to buy anything as it is a place to browse. It's almost like it's own little museum of oddities. There is everything from shrunken heads, mummies, odd animals and folded dollars. It's down on the Seattle waterfront so parking may be tricky, but it's worth the drive!

I love the things they are selling I would be shopping here on holidays. I love the things they are selling, most are rare products you can't simply find elsewhere.

For Looking, Not Buying Fun If you are a window shopper or love cool, interesting, or gross things, Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is a good place to kill some time. It might be a little intense for younger kids, but those who appreciate the weird will have a great time. The prices are a bit high, so everytime I go there I just browse. They do not have a lot of conventional stuff anyways, but that is the point of this store.

unique store, to say the least This is a must see for any visiting guest to Seattle. Be sure to head to the back of the store to look at some oddities that might leave you fairly curious!

touristy fun This is a classic. There is a mummified mermaid and a real mummy, carved grains of rice and every manner of touristy knickknack to buy. Some greta old photos and I always love the penny mill. Actually the whole waterfront has penny mills that are pretty cheap souveniors and fun to make. PROS: touristy CONS: touristy!

Tourist central Everyone - tourist and resident alike - MUST go to the store. Its a little wierd - okay a lot wierd - but that's why you have to go. Need a Seattle trinket? They've got. Shotglasses, mugs, t-shirts, kids souvenirs (jump ropes, pencils, etc) and knick knacks galore here. Its also a museum, of sorts. So while your shopping check out the mummy, shrunken head, various carcasses, etc. Sound a little freakish? Sure, but worth the visit. PROS: Everything Seattle, odd things CONS:

Ye Olde Curiosity Shop This is a really cool place to go if you are in the area. They have some really cool novelty stuff. The store has been around forever and has some great stuff. The prices are pretty darn good too. The poeple who work there are cool also. It is a great place to go for small gifts for people in your life.

Like a macabre museum, mixed with a tourist trap Everyone has to go to Ye Olde Curiosity Shop once, whether you live here or are a tourist. It mixes the usual tourist shop kitsch with all sorts of odd memorabilia from the last 100 years, sort of like an odd freak show. There are mummified people, shrunken head, carcasses of all types, pickeled two headed pigs, etc etc. For me, I get a little weirded out after about 10 minutes and can't take anymore. But, I strongly suggest you go there at least once. Bring your tourist frien... read more
