I have decades of experiences with Yale New Haven. Heck, I was born there 68 years ago when it was Grace New Haven Hospital. Many family members have fought their final battles there..some of those battles lasting years and multiple surgeries. I am now at that stage of life where I'm fighting for my own health. Stage 3 cancer and serious COPD emphysema with bouts of pneumonia seem to bring me here a few times a year. Buzzed an hour ago to get to the bathroom. No response.
First class all the way. From the staff, to the cleanliness and amenities. I had outpatient surgery and it couldn't have went any smoother, from the second I walked through the door (after valet parking) to being wheeled back out to the car by their friendly staff.
From the second we walked into the emergency room until my father in law was admitted the staff was courteous, caring, professional and knowledgeable. Service was prompt and all procedures where explained fully. Great experience to have when emotions and concerns are high.
Absolutely one of the worst hospital I've ever been to- and it's time and time again the same thing over and over. They're full of confirmation-bias. They discriminate against those who are addicts in recovery (and successful ones). In fact, they make you feel like complete crap. They never take my intake seriously until the episode actually starts in front of them personally and then all of a sudden it's "oh I see now". Staff was excellent courteous nurses and very informative.
As long as the doctor is on staff, good communication. If not - lots of luck. Of course, with consolidation it may no longer be a problem. I wonder if they have heard of baby A, and Baby B, vs baby A, or baby B! Of course the latter is a safe route.
13 hrs in the Er still had to wait for a room to be admitted crazy.
