At Dr. Lauten's office I felt like a very small part of a VERY crowded assembly line. After three visits I have not seen his office less than over-crowded and have not waited less than an hour. The last visit which lasted almost 2 1/2 hours included less than 5 minutes of the doctor's time and even that he spent most of telling me about the dangers of my diabetes condition (I get that from my PCP, I don't need it from him) and absolutely NO time telling me what he is doing to my eyes or why!

Dr. Lauten is a very bright and caring young physician . Several patients of his that I know, had eye problems on the weekend, and when they called his emergency cell phone number, he met them at his office and treated their problems. He has been treating me for diabetic retinopathy for almost 5 years and knowing that he truly cares about his patients' vision gives one a secure feeling . I don't mind waiting in his office, I know one day I might be the one causing his delay .

I was not impressed with his "bedside manner". He interrupted us while we asked questions, was short & abrupt. He kept repeating the same thing over and over like we were incapable of understanding him. He asked if we had seen a particular doctor since our last visit, which we hadn't because he never told us to. I would not recommend him to anyone. Maybe if he showed some kindness and compassion, but that was never afforded to us.
