Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Wright Lauten sought to pursue a degree in economics at Vanderbilt, but soon realized that his true calling in life was to help people get better. Dr Lauten impressed us with his caring and skills. He helped us understand what my problem was and made us comfortable. His staff is wonderful as well!

He wanted to put in My eye even though noted In my chart on 2 prior office Visits that I had severe allergy. When reminded he told either Take the betadine or go home. Only thing he used.

I am so thankful for the care Dr. Lauten has given me over the years. He is the most compassionate doctor I have ever worked with. He cares about his patients and it shows. His office is well run and it is obvious he is incredibly competent in what he does.

Kind, compassionate, friendly, humble, caring person and staff is fine also. Patient is #1 but not a #! I’m 72 & feel like my son (or grandson) is taking care of me! Extremely approachable! Staff reflects his great qualities also. Moves mountains if necessary to accomadate a patient’s needs! Effeciently run office slowed down only by unexpected needs of a fellow patient. I actually feel like I helped someone if I have to wait! But wait is seldom and pleasant with TV & complimentary drinks!
Dr. Lauten provides excellent care and in my opinion is the top retina specialist in the state of Mississippi. He and his staff are excellent in every regard.
He is absolutely the best Doc I have ever seen. Young smart honest and still slowed down to talk to my concerns. He has just remodels his entire office and never missed a beet. Attention to detail from the entrance to the exit just like he treats his patients. Thanks Doc. Robert Sonny Jarrell
