I found the Woodpile this summer while here on business. I love this place along with Bubba and Sarah. I'll put Bubba's brisket up against any that I've had in Texas.....and they know how to BBQ brisket.
Excellent flavor, good variety of items and prices.
This is some of the best barbeque I've had in the area. Great menu, great sides, great selection of local craft beers. Me only complaints are that the parking lot fills up quick, and that they can run out of items later in the day. Both are a testament to how good the food is here -- it's prepared fresh and smoked daily.
Best BBQ ever! We brought our friends from Mississippi here and they were thoroughly impressed too. We love going on Friday nights for the live music. Their bartender makes tasty drinks too.
The best barbecue in Michigan. Awesome brisket. You need to go to Texas to match this one. Ribs are meaty and tasty. Chicken is moist and nicely smoked. Jalapeno cheddar sausage is the bomb. Sides such as pepperjack mac and cheese and brisket baked beans are unique and tasty. If you're in Clawson, stop in. You won't be disappointed.

As the pastor right down the road from the Woodpile I plan to visit here often. (That's what pastors do :) we eat all day.) I was able to eat here for the first time today. The food was very good, the service was great, and I loved the atmosphere. Thanks Woodpile, not just for the food and service, but for making Clawson a better place to live and come to.

Excellent barbecue. Carolina pulled pork and the Roadside Pit Beans where fantastic. Wife and daughter loved the brisket. Mac & Cheese was was really good too. Great service with smiles. The outdoor seating area is real nice. Perfect atmosphere for eating great barbecue. The owner stopped by our table to make sure our experience was top notch. We'll be back. Highly recommend.
